The Istanbul Technical University Turkish Music State Conservatory (est. 1975) is running an art and science activity program under the title BİSED (Supporting Scientific and Artistic Activities) since nearly 10 years. These activities, such as seminars, workshops and concerts are open to public and are organized in the 120 seat BİSED Hall in Maçka very close to the cultural center of Istanbul. Just in 2019, 61 concerts were held.

The Turkish Music State Conservatory has also cooperated with various district municipalities of Istanbul. These municipalities offer music courses focusing on Turkish music instruments under the consultancy of our academic staff. In the workshops coperating with the Ministry of Education in 2019, musical training to all music teachers of the State Fine Arts Highschools in Turkey were given.

ITU Dr. Erol Üçer Center for Advanced Studies in Music (MIAM) (est. 1999), is another institute of ITU, willing to support and trigger the creativity in young musicians. It has an experienced international academical staff and great technical facilities in its field. Institute invites not only the registired students but everyone to sharing their knowledge.

Beside the numerious free seminars, concerts and workshops held through the year, it also carries out an “Open Day” annually, to answer the questions of the participants. Open Day is a social gathering held in the MIAM library. Institutes share their knowledge also with the open radio programs and open access online video libraries.
