ITU fights against alien species in the campus by means of mechanical means and avoiding chemical measures. The activities are also conducted under the scope of The Green Campus Project. There are many pine trees in ITU Ayazaga Campus and pine processionary is an invasive species living on these trees. It should be noted it is one of the most encountered alien species on the campus. In addition to mechanical means, some traps have been installed to prevent the proliferation of pine processionary.
